Hi nigel on the decal you did with just water could you then go over the top of that with micro sol
Nigel, you mention the Tamiya decals in their 1/32 Spitfire. I’m about to start this build but am now thinking I need 3rd party decals. Any recommendations?
What I do with the Tamiya extra strong is use it as a last resort. Will start as normal with the Tamiya normal in the usual way.If it dose not bed down.Put the strong on top.If it still dose not go down use the extra strong only on the decal no over lap onto paint. And leave. Its made for the last resort. Its like using Tamiya extra thin for stubborn decals.Hope that helps
Thanks Nigel, that's a very comprehensive review, looks like the lighter fluid adds a new technique for weathering decals.
thanks for your time and effort showing us the different ways to do this
At 3:34 you mentioned peeling the film off of Eduard decals. I've heard of this before, but had poor luck the one time I tried it. Could I convince you to demonstrate? I'd be happy to send you some leftovers.
Great video! Thanks Nigel! 👍
I’ve learned more from this video than from reading articles on decal application. Thank you so much for showing us, Nigel.
Great video Nige, been using Micro Sol and set for god knows how long and very happy with it. but i love your idea of using lighter fluid to weather the decals and remove carrier.
Will the lighter fluid solve the Apache decals issue
I think you've got the softener and setter back to front( Mr hobby)
Nigel, Thank you – I got a lot of useful information out of this one regarding my decal technique.
quite surprised you've not tried or mentioned UMP Normal, Strong and extra strong. I find it a good step its between Set/sol to mark fit strong works really well to slowly bed in decals if not conforming.
Thanks for a great video on decals Nigel
Well done on this series of shows, thanks for your time and effort.

Thanks for videos. It really helps understanding the different items you can use in kits. Plus seeing how it's used and helpful hints. Keep up the work, it's very helpful!
