Yep I totally agree cause I been exercise since grade school Iβm 49 years now and I have to change my workout schedule all the time πβπ½
I have a tight schedule Mon-Friday. I tried doing Push/Pull/Leg Split put found that I didn't have enough time each day to complete my workout. I now do a 5 day Split – Chest/Back/Shoulders/Arms/Legs – -during the week and take the weekend off to allow my body to recover. As a busy dad over 50 this works best for me and I now rarely miss a workout.
I prefer doing barbell clean and press everyday (ground to overhead press) except Sunday with 10 kgs plates on each side. Its a full body workout.
The best split is the one you're doing.
Hepburnβs 8×3 and 3×6-8 four day program?
I'm still using my 1980s football training workout just using less weight and less sets.. Monday and Thursday chest and biceps, Tuesday and Friday legs and back, Wednesday and Saturday shoulders and biceps.. I use all your exercises.. in my workout.. should I do less during the week.. in order to see progress at my age 55.. I have got a lot stronger since I Incorporated your workouts .. in my training.. thank you
I played football during the late 80s.. the way I was taught to train.. you hit to body parts a day.. I'm still using the same training workout, but less weight. For example chest and biceps. Legs and back. Shoulders and triceps.. I noticed you mentioned one body part a week.. I would like to try one body part a week..I will continue seeing progress.. that's my goal seeing progress.. thank you
I'm 42 this month and still doin convict calisthenics and weights 5 days a week, a little gray but still riot ready.
upper/lower is a good one!
I'm currently in a TB split which is working well. Great points here
This is good advice and information π
How many workouts per muscle group and how many sets I'm 41 years old and I like to do the chest back legs and sleeve exercise?
When you discuss the old style weight lifting, you said they work each muscle group 1x a week with a lot of volume. What constitutes a lot of volume? 6 exercises, 3 sets each, 10 to 12 reps? would this be enough for 1x a week per muscle group?
How long should you train for as an over 40 before cortisol levels become to high and prevent your workout from being less of an advantage and more of a disadvantage? Thanks!
The best split is the one that allows you to do 2 full body workouts per week, of 10-12 sets per body part in 75 minutes or less per session, with 2-3 days off every week for recovery.
I do it by having my own gym so I can superset push-pull movements on each joint.
That way I don't waste time waiting for equipment.

Best split is the one you decide haha erm ok so my next video is going to be be the best way to build a fortune is whatever method you decide
Iβm over 50 and I mix and match everything at each training session. I also enjoy using the punch bag to help build stamina.
At age 49 I have reduced my exercises 2x to avoid junk volume. But in order to work my tris, bis, traps, pecs and lats, 8 exercises, 2 sets, 15 reps, it STILL takes me 1.5 hours, any advise?? π
The BUFF- DUDES are better and more entertaining. BUFF-DUDES YEAH!!!
