I was having this problem yesterday at the range and was thinking my sights were misaligned I will use a stronger grip next time

That's a different take, I've heard from a couple trainers that low left shots typically come muscling the gun on the shot. Which made sense to me because I was gripping so tight, I thought I was pushing the gun down with my dominate hand. But when I loosened up a bit it got worse, so I didn't think that was really the issue for me. I will observe this the next time I shoot.

When ever my gun is inaccurate I always assume it’s me at first I don’t blame the gun until I learn how to shoot it correctly, I need practice

I was so happy to find this video. I purchased a Sig P-220 .45 and was shooting aggressively lower left. Looking forward to seeing improvement when I go back to the range.

Thank you for the advice and presentation. I'll focus on that next time. All my shots went low right (lefty here). I tried to put my finger on the trigger differently but didn't see any improvements. Now I see the issue is somewhere else. Thanks!

My friend blames the sights. Refusing to hold the pistol properly, stand properly and insist on having the target 15 yards out. Target looks like Swiss cheese and he’s returning the pistol cause he everything is low left. When I fire his pistol at my laserlyte target, his red dot is spot on.

I’m right handed and tend to shoot to the right. Elevation is good, but the shots hit to the right.

Aside from misaligned sights, another reason for low left/low right is shot anticipation. Slightly tipping the gun down as the trigger is being pulled. A subconscious attempt by the shooter to keep the muzzle down during recoil. Diagnose this issue by mixing dummy rounds with live rounds. The muzzle will dip on the click on the dummy rounds.
Once this is determined, the shooter can do exercises to correct it. It's a relief to learn the reasons for shooting issues.✌🏽

Just went to the range this morning with my Mom. I’m consistently having this problem. I’m a new shooter, with an ok group 6-8” but it’s mostly low and to the left. Thank you. I will try and work on this.

I'm a long-time shooter who has been vexed with this issue. I've known I'm adding movement to the gun when breaking the shot. I found that my finger placement on the trigger ("too little," "too much," "just right") made ZERO difference. It doesn't matter AT ALL where my finger is (in my experience). It was coming from somewhere else. It was coming from the other fingers. "Milking the grip."

"You're milking the grip!" Yeah! I know! How do I AVOID that?!? Nobody ever said what to DO about it… until this video. It was one of those head-smacking "D'oh!" moments. Grip it tighter! Looking forward to trying that at my next range session this weekend! Thanks!

Excellent way of explaining how to correct a very common issue and loved how short and sweet and to the point the video was.
