Wisely spoken. I always tell people that counting calories makes you fat. And I wholeheartedly believe this because it makes you miss the feeling for your body and its needs (although it may help when you use it strategically to regain that feeling).

I like this a lot better than the jag off on steroids who tells people it's okay to eat ice cream. As someone who has gone from ultra-fit to type 2 diabetes and back to fit I will tell you it's simply not the case. You have to eat clean and healthy and be kind of hard about it if you want to have a hard healthy body.

Came from beginning of Movement 20XX. I recently saw a video that promoted the idea that our personal goals should not be so much about achieving a certain thing but about acquiring the habits of those that have achieved it. This reminded me of that when you said your eating style was developed over several years and when you notice you're a little off balance you immediately correct it. The idea of habits really changes my approach to diet and fitness.

I have been following you and enjoy your videos immensely. I started a fitness routine three years ago. I managed to loose 45 lbs. Now I want maintain my weight and improve muscle tone. I am 64 yrs old. I was recently was diagnosed with Non Hodgeskins Lymphoma which is a form of blood cancer. I am trying to find a meal plan that would help me with my war on this disease. This video has helped me start. Thank God I found you.

What do you eat on cheat days
So, you don't worry about your protein intake at all? If you had to estimate your daily protein intake, what would it be? I'm asking because I'm neurotic about tracking my macros; I don't see how building and/or maintaining muscle is possible by just trusting yourself to eat the right amount. I dream of just being able to eat as intuitively as you do while achieving a physique similar to yours.
hey, can you please elaborate on grains? I've been eating quinoa, brown rice, oatmeal, millet, cus-cus my whole life… should I be avoiding those things?
I know what your saying…you start off as a calorie counter & food measurer and over time you can stop because you've basically programmed your brain on how much to eat & what kind of food to eat/not eat. I don't count anymore either. You just know.

I would certainly like to get to the point where I can just "trust my gut" for when I need to eat, but for right now, counting calories seems like a good taking-off point.

I run 4/5 times a week & like to eat healthy & i find if i eat clean & no food in sauces or currys type of food it works well .
But like he said it's a ongoing job you have to constantly watch your body , more veg & less meat works very well for me + lots of water.

Do you make your own sauerkraut or you get homemade sauerkraut from someone? The probiotic value is extremely good in homemade, its full of lactobaccilus plantarum. I believe with store bought tightly sealed storage they kill off the probiotic as it would explode on the shelves.
