Do any girls have any tips on comfortable bike seats? 😬
Every one of those questions 1:25 and my other thought “How can I train to get through each event and make it to the finish line alive?”🤔🤣
Im two years into start swimming as an adult. My coach is youtube vids.
My max i can do is 100m x10
I do something realy bad.
But i started with drowning after 3 strokes..
Im not giving up but feels like im wasting a lot of time..
I agree absolutely. what matter is how you feeling during the exercise. congratulation
rim work?
Finally….I've been searching for a video like this for many years. Well done and very informative without being intimidating.
Thank you! I am doing my first "Baby Triathlon" and your videos have taken most of the anxiety out of the event.
you need nothing, just buy my book
Holy smokes, eh!
Thank you so much for your advice. I'm a super begfiner with triatlón but with your advice, i will be the best or one of the best
God bless you all!!
If you don't have a bike, is using an exercise bike a good alternative until I buy one?
I’m doing the running, just started swimming with masters, oh my it’s different and now I need to find the time and confidence to do the bike. 😬
Does spin class count for bike interval training?
I’m training for my 1st sprint. My bike is 26lbs but it’s all got for now. I bought some swim goggles and I’m pretty much good to go. The time is irrelevant. Giving it my all is all that matters.
Funny thing for me. I can swim all day and I’m fat, like 350 lbs, but I can’t run for shit 😂 signed up for Newport Cal Tri, 14 weeks out. Let’s fkn do this thing
For me I used to swim semi competitively, mind you 50m sprints, in primary school and be around water a lot. When I got back into swimming I could swim 100m but I would be so gassed, not panicked or anything. It took getting used to slowly breathing out to finally swim more than 200m+
damn I have to buy a bike
Wow that has really simplified everything I am doing at the moment thank you… Keep it going fella 🙂
Im so glad you started with swimming as the first topic. The only thing that is holding me back from doing a triathlon is swimming 🥲
Great helpful video as always (and entertaining easygoing style)! Thank you from a beginner
I did 60 miles bike ride. I ran after and nothing wanted to move. Normally I can pace ~9:20 min mile. This dropped to ~15 min mile. I could only did 2 miles and stopped. Glad I found out now than later. Energy management seems to be tricky as well. Eating on a moving bike was not easy so I drank one Gatorade and one health bar for the entire 60 miles. I was fine on the bike averaging 15-16 mph. But it was a wrap at the end of the ride. I came into this fairly fit than average joe at 48. However it humbled me real fast what it takes to do all three legs in one day. I started swimming like 2-3 weeks ago. Barely got to 400 meters without stopping to breathe. This is definitely not a condition thing. It’s more breathing thing. Enjoy the process regardless how this turns out.
Dude – you are the bomb. This was soooo encouraging – God bless ya!!
Great reminder for me that triathlon is fun! It’s easy to feel unworthy when seeing so many amazing athletes but I don’t need to compare myself to anyone except myself 🙌🏻
I am built for kbar tossing lol funny.
If you walk during the running portion of the triathlon, do you risk getting disqualified?
You are definitely part of my training. I'm finishing my first week of training for my first triathlon (sprint). I've been running for 6 years now so I have the run part down. Swim and bike is the challenge but I'm pumped up! Thanks for all the tips and tricks, Taren.
I appreciate your honesty in your videos so much! Thank you for keeping it real!
I want to see a city cruiser with a basket and aero bars at a race! I would love that. lol You're the man Taren! Great video as per usual.
Hey T, I must be doing something wrong…I have tried to download the free training plan and all I ever get is the introduction to your book. Where can I find the plan you reference in all of your videos? Thanks!
Never done a triathlon event but now I'm feeling inspired
Did you start with heart training from the beginning or just go by feel?? And how would you do it now if not the same??
Will the others at the pool hear me humming in the water..?
this was EXTREMELY useful thank you sir
another great video, I'm more wondering about strength training. I come from a sports to bodybuilder background. but I went back to more sport, running and biking. I've figure methods that work but I really want to structure something into my week.
Ahhh the beginnings of TT…. when I could relate….Love you Taren but cool it with the endless pool, expensive TT bikes…. relax…. Most of your viewers are beginners…. and its intimidating…. Maybe you think its what people look up to but…. no. ADvance defo, but i miss Taren 2015… Im glad you addressed this….
Hi Taren! I was curious which aero bars you used?
This video made me smile. I spent quite a bit of time falling over at stop signs when I was learning to clip out of my bike and I got passed by a 73 year old man in my first 70.3. From the training to crossing the finish line was a humbling and inspiring experience. If you're just starting out, don't give up.
52 years old and I can't swim. But I am a member of a tri club. That counts, right?
"just" 6 workouts /wk.
