Unfortunately this exercise will not work for a lot of people over 50 because they have knee problems and doing any type of squat especially if they're a little overweight they'll wake up with knee pain the next day and wear their knees out
You may not believe but I'm 23 and at this age I suffer from knee pain and feel that my legs are weak especially when it's cold.
Doctor told me I need to build muscle because there is no muscle which can protect my bones.. hope this exercise help me. Thank you

My knees cracking sound when I bend my knees , so what I have to do sir , I m from India
I can get up from chair of the height chair in demo. So I were to try this push up and ever so come down the chair height my legs will give up and I will be on floor. Then getting up from floor is very difficult. I will need some strong person to pull up. My wife might have to call neighbors. To avoid this put chair behind so that if your leg gives you will be landing on chair from which you can get up. When you start pushing down more and more the safety chair has to be adjusted lower height. That means use an adjustable medical chair.

Thank you for caring about the weak. I am a retired RN who retired to stay with mom. Mostly, I quilt and do house chores… not enough exercise! I have lost much muscle, strength, and balance. This video is great instruction and encouragement for me. May every blessing be yours.
I like this video. Would these exercises work if you have arthritis in the knees? My knees pretty much dictate how far down I can squat. Thank you.

People with knee, calf pain, weak glute can do this ????
I'm worried that you demonstrate with allowing knees to go way out in front of feet and don't warn against this. It seems universally accepted among physical therapists, tai chi experts, and trainers that this is bad for knees and that hips should go back in order to keep knees above and not in front of feet. Can you explain why you do not think this is necessary. And why, exactly, is the heel elevation necessary? What are your credentials?

After my kung fu injury i was not able to do my kung fu training and also i was not able to stand up from the floor. Now i regain some strengh and i continue to do it at my pace.

Forget this video. Get a bicycle and climb hills. Do it 3 times a week for 2 hours each time and in 6 weeks you will be well on your way to being in the best shape of your life!
