Dr. Beckyโs Freedom Health Weight Loss Program: https://drbeckyfitness.com/weight-loss-coaching-program-fhp-2/
I love how you didnโt mention all the for profit corporations and their wealthy human owners that have created an obese and uneducated nation
I respectfully disagree with several of your points…
– You never want to skip breakfast. Your body has not had any nourishment since thr evening before. Skipping breakfast will set you up for hunger later on, and that hunger will manifest itself into cravings for unhealthy foods. Skipping any meal is unwise, not only for weight loss, but for our body and brain chemistry.
– No carbs is NOT the answer. Slow carbs is the answer….Brown rice, beans, quinoa, oats. Slow carbs will result in hours of energy, and will fill your belly up, resulting in keeping away cravings for unhealthy food.
* An empty belly, is a setup for cravings. A full belly with clean protein, slow carbs, and vegetables is key to weight loss.
I was raised believing that the food pyramid was a reliable guide for healthy eating. I believed that the government had my best interests at heart when developing it. I believed my teachers at school who told me breakfast was the most important meal of the day. I now know that the government was influenced by money and politics when they told me to eat LOTS of bread/ pasta and little oils and protein. I don't trust the government on any of my health choices anymore. Thank you Dr Becky for your Youtube channel and good advice.
Firstly, for a slightly senior lady you look … mmmm!
Ive gotta share my easy diet trick. Halve the size of your main meals and fill your plate with mashed carrots. Snack only on fruit. Ive lost 10lbs in a month. No exercise and still drinking beer!
I wasnt that fat at the beginning, 210 lbs and six-one and they do say that the last 20lbs is the hardest to shift. 59 year old British guy.
Very new information thanks
Thank you great explanation and very helpful
Can you show a video on how the food will look on your plate please? So i can get a idea.
I really like this video, as it doesn't demonize eating important fatty foods. (Not talking about fried and processed stuff) even better you're a doctor! Perfect video for my mother
Should I just be getting up at 4:00 am then when my metabolism kicks in and wakes me up? Often I just lie in bed for hours afterward. Should I just seize the opportunity to get productive early and go to bed earlier?
dr.becky, are you referring to or basing the facts on the tape measure or the scale results. I think that if you considered both in terms of keeping your body perfectly acidic instead of overly alkaline that the best results can be achieved at any age with a natural approach. just a thought.
Thanks for the videos โค๏ธ

I was born in 1967 and told all the same things growing up also was Told we had to eat everything off our plate because they were starving people didnโt know when theyโre getting their next meal
Wow. Your videos are brilliant. I loooove your calm voice. I love you donโt have background music and most importantly I love the low carb high fat medium protein approach
Never mind the weight loss, I love your kitchen! The wood burning stove in the corner is the kicker, now..uh hum, lets talk weight loss over 50:)
Where are your tips for over night workers? What kind of food should I eat?
Dr. Becky. You are a blessing to me. Thank you for the information with a kind voice. ๐๐ป God bless you.
Iโm 56 and was wondering how many carbs I should have a day while dieting? Iโm doing weight watchers but Im liking the low carb plan.. ๐
I was also born in 1967 and learned the calorie model. Thank you for explaining why it didn't work and what WILL work!
Youโre over 50? Fooled me…
Thanks for wonderful video. God bless you
So glad I came across this channel! Thank you so much Becky.
My Bag. Eggs and butter, thank God, you sounded vegan on the previous video. I hope you're familiar with the evils of seed oils.
She the best – no nonsense, to the point and simply wonderful!
I'm 59, and whenever I need a little encouragement, I watch a couple of Dr. Becky videos. I am exercising, eating super healthy and lots of intermittent fasting, but weight loss is still slow. Actually, my only goal is to lose inches and fit into some of my favorite clothes… I don't really care about weight. My body is adjusting and ramping up, but …. it's a s-l-o-w process for me. (Might/might not have something to do with the decades of cake, beer, and inconsistent exercise. ๐
I realize this is an older video. At age 62.5 …Even though I have been at my goal weight since June 2020 …I still enjoy watching past videos. Very encouraging & informative whether I was trying to lose OR whether I am just maintaining my weight. A big shout out & thank you to Dr Becky & Dr Keith. What a godsend & treasure you both are! โค๏ธ๐from Canada
I am far better at 46 than I was when 31. Fda is terrorist organisation. It must be abolished.
Fantastic advice on how to lose weight, I would say at any age, but certainly after fifty.

50 looks good on you๐
Love to listen to you. Wish you were my teacher in school
Thank you for the information. Great video! But I do have a question – I work a very late shift many times of the week I will work 2 PM to 12 AM. Itโs hard to eat at six or 7 PM and then not eat anything else until the next morning. What can I eat to stop that feeling of starvation when I get home from work??
Thanks for sharing.
If my understanding is correct:
Essentially, both excess fat and carbohydrate will end up in the adipose (fat) cell, that is why the idea of calories was very important. However, the metabolism of carbohydrate involves insulin which converts sugar into fat and suppresses the hormone that burns fat (e.g. insulin vs glucagon). Maybe this is the primary reason why people consume a high proportion of carbohydrate are more likely to gain fat since their body is filled with a higher level of insulin.
Meanwhile, I don't see why skipping breakfast is a good idea, unless you don't have time for breakfast. Why don't you skip your dinner instead?
Yayyy we are both 67 born ๐๐๐๐๐ค
You are too good
Stick to meats and vegetables. Insulin spike causes fat storage and inflammation!
Foods that spike insulin: Grains, breads, cereals, pastas, fruit (fructose).
