Bro doesn't even show how to get to where you need to go lol like wtf? I know how but watching this, I already know this isn't enough info to get you to the hanger..
Hawks, why after years am I still loving your beginners guides. Maybe I'm after promotion to Seargent Major??π
Cant learn to play the unplayable. it's trash right now… save the stress.
Great guide for a new player, well done! ππ». Owned since the beginning but only just got into the game. Enjoying what's currently playable so far π
Just watched the video last night, bought the game (using your code) and I'm going to watch it again doing everything! Thanks for the great vids!
Whats going on Hawkes!!!! Still keeping u and ur family in prayer. Good to see some more SC content
(TIP) while lootin Hold Shift and left click to move items from one inventory to another
what i appreciate the most is the fact that you help fix some of the horrendous keybinding, f5-8 for power management is just…..
Never played SC. I'm a few years into elite and I'm amazed that people other than creators have time for 2 or more universes in their lives.
Hello everyone im new to the game and trying my bast to make in game money to buy a nomad but just cant quite get there yet. is anyone willing to share some aUEC? My in game name is Undecided216 i really would appreciate it allot fellow citizens!!
This is pro tutorial! I really like your way of narration.
You could tho add a tip for the starters:
– deliveries from derelict outposts involve armed NPCs with x4 scopes, and they don't miss, even in blizzard on microTech! And the cherry is a Cutlass Black with reinforcements! Their AI is below zero, but this mot*er****er in the top turret is very active! I'd say can be useful for starters!
Derelict outposts don't have quantum beacons, so you will fly there terribly long.
You could also record the basic movement keys not-in-space to make the ship movements more visible (like on your previous tutorials).
Otherwise this is very helpful tutorial!
Someone said (I haven't tested that) that while collecting mined gems one by one, you can press 'i' (inventory) and pick em all up to backpack, but like I said before – it's unconfirmed.
Flying off a mine is fast, just exit the atmosphere, target an OM (orbital marker) QD jump, and target the closest spaceport, dock, done (5 min max).
I wonder how you can play this game, for me almost nothing works. First experience, I repeatedly die in train station, being not even near the train. Package delivery missions don't work at all, I tried 3 times and the package just bugs into the wall when trying to deliver.
A. Thank you for a cohesive yet concise for how informative it is guide.
B. I had no idea how much I needed all these positive affirmations.
Why do you recommend the aurora over the mustang? really between the two its personal preference but overall aside from a bed, the mustang is better.
pinging during night station approaches helps not flying into something that u didnt see with ship lights
I keep going to the places he suggest in stage 1 to get weapons from Bud's Growery/Shady Glen and there is no loot anywhere. What am I doing wrong?
With the fps mission and mining I logged out next to the cave but would I have to worry about other people getting the same cave for there mission and killing me while mining
Why does it seem everything you do in this game is 3 steps more complicated than it needs to be? By 10 minutes in 4 Huge red flags waved for me: Cash shop for starter ship, Starting at $40, Don't get carjacked by other players [wtf lol], 3 step process to hydrate. Look, I want this game to succeed just to flex on all the negative bull it has, rightfully, earned in the last DECADE. But seeing this… They should change the title to Gambler's Fallacy.
The Mustang Alpha is a great ship for starting out with cargo space and fighting capability for only $45
I dont understand how he can loot armor parts, it wont let me put an armor piece in my backpack even though it has 100k storage space
Thank you so much for sharing how to fix the unscannable rocks bug, I was still using the previous fix of having to leave the Prospector each time (and it happened a lot).
"Look at the bones!" That rabbit is definitely dynamite.
Hey it ainβt griefing if your ship gets stolen. Itβs inconvenient for the victim but it is a game loop on purpose
why cant i enter buds growery?
OMG THANK YOU I LOVE YOU
Screw this game. Couldn't even leave the pilot's seat.
6:04 – One thing to ALWAYS do, when landing in the dark (night time or in space) is turn on your ship's light. Do that with the "L" key (default). Don't land in the dark. Also, once you get close, it's a LOT easier to land in third person (F4). There is also an "auto-land" function you can use, when you get close to your assigned hangar or pad. Check your keybinds/keymaps and re-set that to something convenient for you.
6:28 – IMMEDIATELY after cutting off your engines, hit F1 (MobiGlass) and look for the wrench icon at the bottom of the display. Click on that and wait a moment for it to populate. You will be told what your ship needs in the way of fuel, repairs, and supplies (ammo). Make sure they are ALL full before you leave your ship. That way, if you're in a hurry later, you won't accidentally leave the hangar with a damaged ship and/or empty fuel tank. You can also repair/refuel/rearm at any outpost which has landing pads, by landing on one of the pads and accessing the same function there.
7:50 – Two things you DO want to grab from the white loot crates are clothes, which you can re-sell, and ALL the colors of QuikFlares (glow sticks) except for the pink ones. You can buy the pink ones ingame for five aUEC each. Those are the ONLY ones you can buy ingame. The other colors are all "QuikFlare Pros" and do not EVER run out of charge, which means you can use them over and over. This comes in handy on missions, as you can see really well with three pro flares mounted on your armor AND the NPCs can not see the flares, for some reason. That effectively gives you night vision for things such as cave missions. The looted clothes and armor you re-sell can make you a decent amount of money. I recently did a 4,000 aUEC "starter" box mission. By the time I resold the looted armor and clothes, I had made nearly 50K. Not bad for a few minutes' work.
8:26 – The downside of running is it uses up your nutrition and hydration faster, so you spend much of the time you saved topping off your character. I generally only use the walk function with the mouse wheel speed dialed up. It's almost as fast as running and doesn't cost you as much nutrition and hydration. PLUS, if your character is running, and the game makes you fall (blown over by the wind (it happens), clipping, desynch, colliding with another player), your character is MUCH more likely to be injured or even incapacitated.
9:13 – Notice the mission says, "…a quick local delivery." Do NOT believe that. They LIE. See where it says you have to pick up from a "derelict outpost?" Those abandoned outposts are populated by NPC bad guys who WILL kill your character. Plus, they have guards OUTSIDE, who will see you approaching. Plus, they DO get reinforcements in the form of several more NPCs in a Cutlass Black, partway through the mission. Your character can end up dead and your ship a lovely collection of scrap, littering the landscape.
17:55 – NOPE! Remember what I said about the QuickFlares? Now's the time to use them.
23:41 – Remember about landing on one of the other pads and doing a quick repair/refuel/rearm. I ALWAYS do that, just in case I get a call to join some friends in another type of mission. You can never be too careful about having your ship in top shape. ALSO, that outpost has several buildings, each possibly with loot crates. The armor, clothes, tools, et cetera there are yours for the taking and reselling.
Outstanding video. I've been following you for a long time now. I use your videos to train new players and new org members all the time.
* I noticed you never used gimbal mode ("G" key) on your ship's guns when dog fighting. It's basically an "aim assist" like on console games ("easy mode" hehe). Extremely helpful for new players.
* Always stay at least 30km away from landing zones. Pirates hang out at them searching for ship signatures. This is valuable knowledge for both ROC and Prospector mining. CIG has said that they plan on bringing back the ability to see "pings" which can be seen from 20km away at night.
* Yes you can "stealth" a Prospector. I have brought its signature down from a distance of 20km to 2km.
* Never use a direct route while quantanium mining from the planet/moon to the refinery (it doesn't matter when asteroid mining). These routes are camped by both player AND NPC pirates. Just select another quantum marker and cut the quantum a few seconds after engaging. Then plot your route to the refinery.
When you tell to buy the prospector you never explained how those surge modules work….
This is one the best vids out there for beginners hands down, IMO. Well done Hawks.
Cheers, always watch your content π

Love how your re-edits keep getting better and better. Keep it up sir. β€
