Your paintings are very nice
The best paper for watercolor art is hot or semi hot press hand made Japanese paper; or "washi" Second being French hand made paper, or "Papier-Mache-Paper". Hot or medium hot pressed French "Papier'Mache" is not as refined as Japanese "Washi" and three times the cost.
Can’t believe this is free… thank you for this! It was so helpful ❤
I’m so glad I found this video before starting watercolor-you’re a great instructor-thank you
Wonderful! I am writing a novel in which the female protagonist is a girl who loves to paint, especially watercolours. Although I don't paint, your video has been a great help to me. Congratulations you're a true artist!
Terrific
Absolutely love your teaching style. I have been rather intimidated with watercolr but you have showed me in very easy to understand terms what and how to start. Thank you

I absolutely loved to paint as a kid but I left those days behind. I am trying again to reconnect with things I loved previously and your video is a boon to me. Thank you 🥺
Thank you for just talking paint and getting to the point
some ideas for palette: use white ceramic tile or porcelein plates. opal glass is good. ordinary glass with white paper taped on other side.
Thank you so much for the advise your sharing. I'm newbe to Art world trying charcol, paint, and now trying watercolors. your video made it so easy to understand the process. TY and plz keep upnthe great video's for us.

Great tutorial, thoroughly enjoyed watching 👍🏼
Glad I found your channel
Hello brother in humanity…. Can ihave those three kinds of brushes,? Im a poor artist cnnot afford to buy nice water colors and brushes…
Outstanding tutorial 👍🏻🙏🏻
I disagree on several points!
Yes, while it is good to start with primaries, it is still nice to have some extra colours for your convenience, especially since depending on what the tone is, you might end up with a shoddy orange or an awful purple. (And if you want to keep a colour vivid, but need it darker, you WILL need a black. Anything else would simply dull it down.)
Also, pay attention to pigments! Colours made with single pigments are also better, because if you mix 2-3 together to create a colour, it could get muddy if it is already made with multiple pigments.
Furthermore, mixing on plastic sucks. Metal is also meh. Go grab a ceramic saucer or small plate to mix your colours on, those actually work a lot better, because they grab hold of moisture, and you waste a lot less paint!
One more point: 100% cotton "paper" is expensive as HELL! 50% cotton is actually pretty decent, holds moisture pretty long, the colours remain vivid, so beginners can actually start with that – and afford it. Don't be an utter snob, ffs!
Oh and almost forgot, not everybody paints on large paper. If you want to paint on smaller, greeting-card sized papers, size 2, 4 and 6 brushes are a lot nicer and give a lot more precision. (And synthetic brushes are less floppy. Marten hair brushes are probably the best, but synthetic hair is pretty decent (as well as affordable), and for me was a lot more manageable than for example squirrel hair, that flopped all over the place, and retained too much water.)
You are excellent…in your painting and in your instruction! Thank you soooo very much! I am looking forward to following your lesson plan. I am not new to painting…in my mid 70s now but have been painting, crafting, and all sorts of creative things since my early school days. Guess that would make me a very experienced novice! 👍🏻
Appreciate the way you bring all the info down to essentials…lovely!!! Thanks again! Gonna see what else you have for us….❤❤❤
I love the quality of your voice. Very easy listening. Great info for me as a beginner
i love your vids so different
Very clear and helpful, thank you!!
Informing people to put the lightest values on first is probably one of the most helpful advice I've gotten from a watercolor tutorial. Great video!
You are generous and thoughtful to give so much valuable information in just nine minutes.. will watch it again and again. The glimpses of some of your paintings is something to look forward too. Thank you very much
Thank you thank youu for this video. I won’t elaborate because I have to finish 15 watercolor paintings haha. But going back to basics is a vital part of learning ❤
One of the best tutorials❤
