I'm Answering comments on here since the premier ended!
I'm maybe 95% vegan. I used to eat a mostly animal-based diet until I started thinking too much about the animals the food came from. It got to me. Eventually, I am where I am now which is pretty much vegan with some eggs here and there and the occasional meat that ends up making me feel quite sad about eating.
What really moved me towards this diet was the question of "Can I bring myself to kill an animal to eat it?" and the answer is no. I can't bring myself to do that. I would rather starve. So, I've been migrating my cooking and eating habits to be more vegan and less animal based. I suspect this year may be the year I can drop the eggs.
you ate honey? 😄
I have a doctory question for you, why does seeing/imagining tasty food make me hungry?
Y’a same I’m a Indian so I know how many vegan Indian cuisines are there because I live in india
9:30 that looks so creepy with the head on it. That beauty eatin that creepy lookin fish. Yuck
I think it would be different if you were to go into this with more research. In 2024 it’s really not that “restrictive” sometimes it is inconvenient but you live in NYC right? so not really
Eat real plant food, not some vegan junk.
5:58 The large amounts of gas for me lasted I believe a few months?
I'm one year in now and MUCH less gassy!!! Hahaha
4:26 "I was worried if they were going to have any vegan options for me…" Welcome to our vegan everyday life, Mike!! 😂😮💨
It's cruel to take honey and replace it with sugar water, their honey is for them and is what they need to survive. ALso, all restaurants do plantbased normally?
I mean it's a plantbased diet and nothing to do with being Vegan, but it's cool you tried to eat that way. There's so many amazing plantbased foods, but yes, if sticking to healthy it's hard to get calories in and isn't enjoyable
I love the vegan diet the first few weeks i was farting lol yiu get used to it
Well, they don't 'milk' their honey, but the process of getting is just as horrendous :c
Bro went vegan and just ate fruits and vegetables then wondered why he was losing weight
Bro, learn to cook 😂 going vegan either requires expensive replacement products, or learning how to actually cook.
If someone reading this is interested in exploring vegan diet, Ethiopian food has a lot of variety of options from non spicy to spicy foods & it's delicious.
I’m vegan and I have NEVER had meat and I don’t see what is soooo hard for ppl it is so ezzz for mee
Doctor Mike, I love this! Can we be friends?
Bruh, love you, but you can't blame veganism for your gut gurgles when you're eating crackers and cinnamon toast crunch all day. I think it's fine because honestly, that's a realistic vegan diet, we all live in the world and love treats, but I think it'd be interesting to contrast with a whole-plant vegan diet. Even just whole grains would make a big difference here imo.
I think to be a successful Vegan, you have to be a good cook. There are vegan meals that are really filling, but you have to know how to cook it. Also, honey is bee barf–they make it for their baby bees, and we remove that from the hive. A good bee keeper will make sure to leave some, but thats what happens. Also, easeing into the diet is important, get you good bacteria in your gut up, eat live sourkraut, yougurts first.
Carnivore Diet is the Healthiest Diet for Humans and the Diet Humans were designed to eat. 🍖 🥓 🥩 🍳 😋👍
Your first day you order vegan food instead of getting in the kitchen and cooking it yourself? nah fam, start all the way over lol
I don’t see your video/experiment adding anything of value since by your own admission, you did a very poor job of planning, meal prepping, and getting enough/diverse nutrition.
If you like is it possible to do vegetarian diet
Been vegan for over 12 years…no stress or issues. Love my beans, grains and veggies 😊
You didn’t “go vegan” for 30 days. You’re either against animal abuse or you’re not. You ate a plant-based diet. Veganism isn’t a diet. It also isn’t restrictive. There are 10s of thousands of plants.
Bees are murdered for their honey that they spend their lives making for their families. It contains nutrients they need to be healthy. They don’t make it so that some arsehole human can come along and steal it whilst murdering them. And if your “friends” are pressuring you to murder animals, you need better friends.
Vitamin D in cereals usually isn’t vegan. Sheep are murdered for it.
Stop murdering animals. It takes no effort whatsoever. I’ve been doing it for 17 years.
Vegan is better than the SAD diet. However, you don't get all the nutrients you need. The vitamins in plants are not absorbed by the body well at all and supplements are not enough to make up for it.
PCRM 21 day vegan food kickstart. Much more healthy and less wind.
I was whole food plant based for 25 years. I had a mental breakdown a year ago and went to see the doctor. I was deficient in many nutrients, iodine being extremely low. I began incorporating eggs and grass fed/A2/organic dairy, while still maintaining a high vegetable intake. It took a few months, but my numbers finally came back into normal range. I feel much better. Using conventional dairy makes me sick and mucousy, but as long as it is non-homogenized, light pastuerized, grass fed, A2 protein and organic, my body is thriving!
Please try a vegetarian diet with little to no refined foods.
Negative affects of veganism
The vegan diet is not ideal for humans and here’s some reasons why.
Digestibility, our body lacks the ability to break down and digest the nutrients. The cecum portion of our digestive tract is substantially shorter than that of herbivores. The cecum is where cellulose is broken down into an absorbable medium. Consequently the appendix is part of the cecum and it is the only organ in our bodies that is non functioning. Fruits and vegetables are full of anti nutrients and low availability nutrients. Fruits and vegetables lack bioavailable forms of essential nutrients like iron, B12 and protein. Vegetable fats are inflammatory and lead to chronic health problems.
Here’s some myths about the benefits of a vegan diet. We need fiber to help with regularity. False. Since I stopped eating fruit and vegetables entirely my regularity has improved and I have fewer problems when passing waste. Fruits and vegetables are necessary for vitamin C. False again. Yet it is true these foods have higher levels of vitamin C, the high amounts of carbohydrates and natural sugars impede the absorption of vitamin C, whereas meat has adequate levels of vitamin C and because of the lack of carbohydrates the vitamin C is completely absorbed.
Myths about meat. It’s full of unhealthy saturated fats. True and false. Yes they are high in saturated fats, but saturated fats are not unhealthy if they are the primary source of energy for the body, our bodies are capable of utilizing the saturated fat for energy, hormone and brain development. Excess saturated fat is then excreted accordingly and is not absorbed. Meat is high in bad cholesterol. False. We don’t absorb LDL cholesterol from food, LDL is produced by the body, in fact meat, dairy and eggs are high in HDL or good cholesterol which helps maintain a healthy balance of HDL/LDL and triglyceride levels.
The carnivore diet also promotes autophagy. This is the process where our bodies break down the dead and damaged cells within our bodies and repurposes them into healthy cells. This process minimizes cancer risk by allowing our bodies to fight off tumors and cancer cells (sorry vegans but it’s true). Ketosis is another benefit as it allows our bodies to effectively convert fats (saturated as well) into glycogen in the liver which fuels our cells and provides more efficient and longer lasting energy throughout the day. Less is more, less food is needed to achieve proper nutrition, whereas vegans must eat frequently throughout the day only to still not be able to match the nutritional intake of the carnivore diet.
I have experimented with every dietary diet imaginable, even vegan. Once I went full carnivore my blood tests are all positive. I struggled for years with low hemoglobin levels and have been borderline anemic. For several years I have had issues with eczema and in less than a week after starting carnivore my eczema had disappeared entirely. I have had moderate brain fog, which was worse when I went vegan. My brain fog is a thing of the past.
I invite any and all vegans who read this to do your own, unbiased research and be open minded to the truth. There are humane sources of animal products available and truthfully most of the meat industry is more ethical than the vegan propaganda videos that try and demonstrate otherwise. We’re not unlike any other carnivorous animal species, other than the fact we cook and season our food.
A healthy body promotes a healthy mind. Carnivore is the best option for both. Stop believing the propaganda that the PETA-philes are telling you. Existence relies on the balance of life and death. For every life created one life dies. Feed your mind and body the food you are designed to eat. It’s that simple. Don’t let emotional instability guide you away from optimal health.
Rant concluded.
I've never tried a vegan diet but my boarding school diet was mostly plant-based. I got hormonal imbalance and anemia within two years. Never again.
VEGAN DIETS ARE DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH ESPECIALLY WITH ALL THIS COVID AND PANDEMIC AND HOW IT ATTACKS THE MEMORY TOO. SO PLEASE EVERYONE YOU MUST ABANDON THE VEGAN DIET AND EAT A NORMAL FLEXITARIAN DIET WHERE YOU EAT WHAT YOU WANT CAUSE YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR BRAINS AT THIS TIME. COVID ATTACKS THE BRAIN, PLEASE EAT MORE FATTY AND JUICY FOODS AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS TO PROTECT THE QUALITY OF YOUR BRAIN. AMEN. OVER AND OUT. AMEN.
I have been a vegan for 27 years and I don't find it restrictive. It has actually opened my mind and my taste buds to a world of new ideas!
How has the vagan teacher not come after him i hope she doesn’t
I have a daughter in law that is a strict vegan, we always let them pick the restaurant when we eat out together it is always excellent food. Doing it this way makes it easier for them and we are not stress out trying to figure where to eat to accommodate everyone. It has been a wonderful experience.
You talk about how you dont want to eat beans. You ate snacks all the time and then at
9:24
You ate watermelon, olives and asparagus as a dinner ?
Im vegan but wtf you have no idea of what you are doing
YUP! You nailed the major problems for some people: fatigue and gas!!! I tried it awhile back and isolated beans unless they were mashed or whorled and cruciferous veggies…especially raw. I do believe that certain genetics prevent some of us from digesting these foods. I’m a Polish/Slav, also lacking the intrinsic factor and have Pernicious Anemia, so B12 shots are essential. However, one would think I would that the fatigue would get covered with shots…NOPE..I was super lethargic until I started eating meats/fish and plain probiotic yogurt. Also, I don’t believe Veganism is as clean as Mediterranean can be. There are ALOT of “natural additives” to most Vegan foods appetizing. And yes, I felt my appetite was as zapped, from low iron, maybe???
You are so handsome
A vegan diet is one way to destroy your gut. You will be bloated most of the time.
Goes vegan DIET* Not vegan. Veganism is ethics
I enjoy your vids but you’re off base . A WHOLE food plant based lifestyle is extremely healthy as long as you stay away from processed foods. So many accredited peer reviewed studies have proven this. Your take out delivery is horrible! Fried, fatty sauce, yuck . Whole foods fresh fruit fresh veg nuts beans tofu etc etc …. Anyway you do you lol
If you were just going to eat junk food the whole time , what was the point of this ?
HAY can you talk about what you should eat if your under wait😁
btw I cant eat some meat and I can only eat it if it is kosher
"Gut was a mess." Yes, all the ex-vegans know about this and the multitude of health issues that develop over time with a vegan diet.
I know this video is old so you may know this by now, but likely the gas that you experienced was due to your body adjusting to the amount of fiber that you took in during this process.
If a vegan diet is done correctly, it can often involve increased fiber, which leads to uncomfortable gas and bloating for a while. Eventually if a person stays on the diet and keeps eating well, their body will adjust to the amount of fiber and the gas will start to decrease until it goes away completely!
By the way, I’m not a doctor, I’m a patient who got this info from my doctor after I started experiencing gas and bloating years ago when I first went plant-based. I still consume honey, but if I were to take honey out of my diet, I’d be completely vegan!
