Nothing beats the soreness of walking lunges after not doing them for a while. I remember the first time I ever tried them and after the first set I sat down and when I tried to get back up it was as if those muscles didn't work anymore. Sitting on the toilet was a problem for a few days afterwards.
What’s an alternative for the lunge if you have bad knees?

hey J, im in a wheelchair and need to do some exercises to strengthen my core and I cant go gym I have a pull up bar that I can use to hold onto as its a extendable one my arms are pretty strong I

I'm scared of exercises I'm not familiar with because I partially dislocated my fucking shoulder doing barbell pullovers. I cannot do squats or lunges in my flat, but deadlift is fine. The issue is I want to do more than one exercise for my legs and glutes so that I can target more of the area. Introducing the hip thrust. Great! I like it, but I wish you had included more info than you did. How much weight? How many reps? 12 with heavy weights? 25 with lighter weights?
